Today's youth face more than just the wiles of this world in their lives and among their circle of friends and youth groups. Whether they are faith based groups or not, youth face more pressure than most parents can understand. Not only are they facing the effects of this present world, but the legalism of religion. Many of today's youth of faith are leaving the family unit with much discouragement, not knowing which way to live.
The answer is not in more 'Biblical teaching' but in the Spirit of Christ. Many of today's families have a difficult time in teaching and training their young people in the Spirit of Christ. The majority of families of faith have raised their children with Law (rules and regulations) and have not shepherded their children's hearts with grace, mercy, and love.
They know the Jesus of history, but not Christ the Divine. In raising up this next generation with rules without relationship, we have brought to the world a sect of legalism comparable to the Pharisees of the early church age. It has spread throughout our congregations, Christian schools, and even entered politics. Most families of faith know the history of the Protestant Reformation with Martin Luther and various other religious forefathers. Many of them are crying out for another reformation, but the answer is not in a reformation, it's in a true revival...a Spiritual Revolution. We need a fresh revelation of Christ our Lord and it is happening all over the world.
The letter of the Law kills, but the Spirit brings LIFE!
Some youth are not ready. They are hurt and confused. Many cringe at the idea of yet another bible study. For some, a bible study each week is not going to do what needs to be done in their hearts. Only Christ can reach them. But He can use vessels of love, mercy, and grace to plant seeds, water those seeds, and be a part of the increase. It all begins with you.
The Gospel is good news, very good news. Christ IN YOU, the hope of glory!
Colossians 1:27
Our Lord says to come and drink of the water of life FREELY. No strings attached. Just come. Revelation 22:17
He has open arms for the prodigal sons and daughters, waiting to celebrate at the home coming of their troubled and weary souls. Luke 15
He offers the living water to those who feel like they are unreachable. He invites us to come to the well. John 4
It's not about rules...it's about relationships. First and foremost our relationship with Christ. Then with our families, other Believers, then our communities.
We're getting back to the relationship, our first love, Jesus Christ. God with us, Emmanuel.
Through Him, our youth can be reached. Allow Ministry Living to share with you what Christ is doing in our lives, families, and friends. The youth are coming to a greater and deeper understanding of who Christ is in them.
